Lughnasadh
Today, August 1st, is Lughnasadh, or Lammas. (Come straight back now, y’hear, don’t get lost in Wikipedia). So, with a dear friend and her daughter, we made corn dollies:

Myf and Tea and their dollies

Piglet and her dolly

Loubi and her daughter and Piglet making said dollies. No, she doesn’t always look like she’s been on the scrumpy.
Then we made some bread (actually, the bread came first but I digress…)
The four girls sat around the table mashing the bread dough to such an extent that I feared it would be fit for only doorstops. But yeast dough is amazingly resilient stuff. We ended up with two braids and two ‘belly button breads’ - big buns with a hole in the middle that always seals up and looks suspiciously like a belly button.
Then Loubi and I had a play with some dough and I made a sun and a cottage loaf. They all looked so good I had to take a picture.

And then RJ woke up, so he needed to taste the bread. Check out those chunky legs!

So there you have it - four blogs in one day. Goodness, I must go lie down.
