Seed stash

March 1, 2006

It’s been a lovely day - James and I have dug over a quarter of one allotment, and a 1/8 bed of the other. I planted a load of garlic (thank you Nikki!) and although I took the shallots up to plant, I’ll do them at the weekend instead.

I came home, dug over a big chunk of my garden, filled the skip to the brim (ha, stupid builder should have got a bigger one!), and generally had a very nice time.

Then sat down with a cup of tea and felt horribly guilty for enjoying myself when child free - the littlies were at preschool, Myf at big school, and we got two solid hours of work done, sans children. And even when the littlies came home, they were quiet and played happily around me whilst I worked in the garden. Had a conversation in this vein with James and he just rolled his eyes at me and laughed.

Yes, I know it’s funny, but it’s also kind of difficult still. Ho hum. I know I’ll get used to it. Just, I wonder how long it’ll take.

And on a brighter note, I sorted through my seed stash, made up packages for Barbara and Joanna (need your address again please Joanna!)

But this is my stash, in all it’s glory. Those Ikea boxes wil barely shut. There’s 89 packets of seed in the clear tub. And I just got an order from a fellow forum gardener - she wants £10 worth of various stuff, I get to choose. I love doing things like that. As soon as I figure out how to import an excel table into Nvu and publish it as a webpage, I’m going to put up my full seed list, and offer it the blog-viewing public. :-D

But don’t hold your breath - it may take some time!
